About Us

Pi Fabricators is a metal fabrication, CNC machining, and engineered wear solutions provider based in Salem, Oregon. We help operations teams across the Pacific Northwest cut downtime, hit deadlines, and avoid surprise costs.

Pi Fabricators was founded in 2019 by Nick and Daniel Bechtoldt. Daniel Bechtoldt is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon (PE #89334), bringing engineering analysis and design directly into the shop. Nick Bechtoldt brings deep management experience from running production at a planer mill, with a focus on quality, throughput, and on-time delivery.

Most fabrication shops build to print. We do that — but we can also redesign the part on the way through. From converting a single-piece auger into a maintainable assembly with a removable tip, to engineering heavier-duty compaction tubes that hold up to hardfacing without unacceptable warpage.

Our shop combines CNC machining, MIG welding, CNC-controlled thermal spray hardfacing, tungsten carbide embedding, weld overlay hardfacing, abrasive blasting, mass finishing, and in-house annealing. For specialized processes outside our shop — line boring, hard chrome plating, custom pipe bending — we coordinate with a trusted network of manufacturing partners so you have one point of contact through the whole project.

We serve customers in wood products and forestry, recycling and waste processing, mineral processing and perlite, agriculture, and general industrial and manufacturing — across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

We manufacture our fire pits in our Salem, Oregon shop. We also partner with carefully selected biochar and garden brands to bring you complementary products that ship directly from those partners.
